Split Testing For Your PPC Success

Posted in Marketing Strategy | No Comments

Using pay per click ad is the fastest way to drive targeted traffic to your site. There are many aspects that you need to put into consideration before you start a PPC campaign.

I assume that you have done your keyword research properly and select a profitable product to promote. The next step that you should is to test your ad copies and use the best one to bring higher conversion rates.

What exactly is split testing?
Split testing basically means creating several ad copies that are slightly different. It could be a different sentence structure or probably an extra exclamation point for one ad and leaving the other one without it.

You need to test a few because you will not know what works if you only test one ad. You can check which ad is performing by allowing them to get at least 30 clicks. Track their performance and see which one pulls in the most sales. Get rid of the ads with the worse conversion rates to avoid you from losing more money.

You should run 2 of your ads at the same time and see which one works better. Keep perfecting your ads and you will have better performing ads in the process.

There are two type of split testing that you can do when you want to check which one works and which one doesn’t. The first one is called wide split test where you test a completely different ad from the control ad. This is crucial at the early stage so that you can see which strategy works the best for your situation.

You can start using narrow split test as you progress and start getting sales from your ads. This is where you will make slight changes in one of your ad. It might seem like a small change but that will influence the conversion rate that you’re getting.

I hope you understand the concept of split testing and start using PPC to drive targeted traffic to your landing pages.

Happy New Year

Posted in Ramblings | No Comments

It’s 1st January 2009 already. There are so many things that I have done and manage to achieve last year.

Some of the achievement includes:

I am earning at least $3k profit per month from the websites that I developed and flipped for profit.

I currently own more than 20 sites. I plan to properly market and grow these sites before I move on to new projects.

What I want to achieve in 2009

I have a bad habit of spending all my money right after I earn them. I want to change that this year and I plan to save at least $1k of my income in my savings account. I will save at least $12k by the end of 2009. Anything more than that would be a plus!

I will need to hire several writers and marketers to do full time job for me. I have started to provide several types of marketing services that would be helpful for your SEO campaign.

I want to post at least 5 internet marketing tips on dzesire.net every week.

I think a lot of people were rejected by eBay partner network too and I will figure out a way how to get accepted and start making money as an eBay affiliate.

Anyway, I would like to wish all my subscribers a happy new year and I hope it would be a profitable year for our online business.

Merry Christmas 2008!

Posted in Ramblings | No Comments

I would like to take this opportunity to greet my friends, blog readers, customers and anyone who knows me a Merry Christmas.

Here’s my Christmas wish:

I hope I can get better SERPs ranking for the keywords that I am targeting for my sites and to earn streams of passive income from the niche sites that I have built.

Well, it turn out that my Christmas tree decor experiment wasn’t so successful. Sometimes it’s useless to have a high ranking for your targeted keywords if you don’t have a solid foundation for your business model.

What is your Christmas wish? Mind to share them with me?
Look forward to receive your comments :)

Recession Proof Your Business with Online Marketing and Social Media

Posted in Marketing Strategy | No Comments

Whenever people hear ‘recession’, they envision the end of the world. Market values crashing, stock exchanges collapsing, businesses dying –it is not a new dilemma anymore. By definition, a recession is two consecutive quarters of decreasing GDP, and we’ve had nine of them since World War II –ten if you count America’s recent economic meltdown.

Obviously, this is not our first time. We’ve been hit by the recession wave roughly once every six years. Ironically, we should be used to them by now.  Shouldn’t we know how to deal with them?  Some businesses do - those who realize that growth occurs during recessions, and, if they exploit on that fact, they flourish way better then they were at the beginning.

Needless to say that the common corporate belt-buckle needs tightening during harsh economic times, Budget is the keyword to survival but why immediately slash at your advertising and marketing cost?  Consider adjusting operating hours, boosting efficiency and reforming production and operation, which can benefit most companies. In times of economic distress, online ad spending is essential because it is not only targeted and competition is less fierce than in conventional media but also affordable.

Marketing class 101 – teaches you that your advertising budget profits you in the consumer environment. There are many companies that invest in grabbing the customer’s attention.  During a recession, when many companies pull back their advertising, you get a chance in increasing the effect of your ad money by advertising online. One man’s loss is another’s gain; there is no reason to cut down on online marketing then.

Mr. Silverman, of Deliotte’s annual holiday survey, advises that “Retailers should be viewing [online investments] as a way to capture lost sales and prevent them from going to a competitor.  I’m not going to say the growth in online is all additive - a lot of it is shift”. Sounds like a blessing if one chooses not to cutback.

Here are some helpful tips to assist you small (or medium sized) businesses endure recessionary times:

1. Don’t cut your ad budget; increase it. Let your competitors cut ad spending so that you benefit from that.
2. Shift some ad spending from conventional to online - especially approaching the holiday season. You’ll be surprised with the responses.
3. Your customers are nervous about spending; adjust your marketing campaign to alleviate their fear.
4. Lower rates and ad promos from hurting conventional media companies provide great opportunity.
5. Promote online; sponsored events are extremely easy to promote online through social media.
6. Don’t “cheapen” your advertising by trying to save on creative or production costs. Your customers will notice and worry about quality.

You don’t need to kill your business. Remember you are the master of your own progress Choose to advertise online; it is after all the wisest way.

Economical Search Engine Optimization

Posted in Marketing Strategy | No Comments

So you have a website designed, and you know that it has the potential to be a big money maker. So how do you promote it? Pay per click can be complicated and grossly expensive. What about classified ads or offline marketing. This may work great for affiliates, but your website needs some massive exposure, so what do you do when searching for economical search engine optimization tactics?

There are a few things that I do which can be implemented for free, and other which you can do for a minimal fee.

The first thing I like to do is write articles. Article marketing has so many advantages, and people do not realize how much it ties in to search engine optimization. With article marketing, you can use the power of websites such as ezinearticles or goarticles which already have a great relationship with google based in there high page rank. Why compete with these sites when you can use them as assets; at least to start with.

With regard to economical search engine optimization, you need to improve your number of backlinks in order to increase your search engine presence. You can submit your website or the url of your articles to social bookmarking sites such as digg. This will give your website some quality backlinks, which will increase your ranking.

In addition to writing articles, you can also use press releases to increase your search engine presence. This is useful because it instantly gets your offer in front of your targeted customers. You can use either free press release websites or you can pay, however you usually will do better with the paid sites.

The more links coming in to more pages in your blog/site, the more it is worth. Its tells a search engine that you have a lot of worthwhile content in your blog/site when other web sites are linking to different pages on your site. But if all the links are coming to your homepage, it tells that search engine that you a site/blog of little value and that your links are generated by automation rather than by the value of your site.

These methods are to increase overall traffic to your website using economical search engine optimization. If you implement these article marketing techniques, then you should be able to increase your earnings with seo in no time. It only takes a few quality articles per week to achieve good results, but just imagine how much you could make churning out articles at a record pace.
