Increase traffic on your blog

Is your blog collecting dust and not getting enough traffic? It’s a common problem for bloggers. Their blogs are good, but no one is coming to visit. They want to know how to increase traffic. Increasing traffic is actually easier than it seems–provided you know how. In this newsletter, we will go over 7 specific methods of increasing traffic. These are guaranteed methods to draw more visitors to your blog.

Tip 1: Sign up for pinging services

It seems pretty obvious, but most bloggers, even those who are more experienced, don’t sign up for pinging services. If you’re new to blogging and don’t know what pinging means, pinging basically means that when your blog is updated, a “ping” is sent out by the service to let pinging sites know that your blog has been updated. People who are visiting sites with pinging services will then see your blog flash across the side of the screen as “newly updated”. Pinging services include Yahoo’s blo.gs, weblogs.com, Google Blog search, and ZingFast.

Tip 2: Sign up for Technorati

If you go to technorati.com, you’ll see an option on the left side of the screen to “Claim Your Blog”. Doing so allows you to get updated link counts, add your photo or branding to Technorati, and see your Technorati link. Having your blog claimed on Technorati helps to increase traffic because the millions of people who go to that site will have a chance to see your blog on there.

Tip 3: Sign up for FeedBurner, a RSS service

What FeedBurner basically does for your blog is it helps you to promote your blog’s content, build your audience and measure your audience. In other words, it helps you increase your blog’s traffic.

Tip 4: Bookmark your blogs at places like del.icio.us

You can set up an account and profile at del.icio.us. Then, using that, you can add links to your blog along with excerpts from your blog. Anytime someone visits your profile on del.icio.us, they will see a link to your blog and excerpts. There are other social bookmarking sites that you can use in much the same way. The bottom line is, using these social bookmarking sites can help you increase traffic.

Tip 5: Post comments at other blogs

No, this doesn’t mean you should go and spam other blogs with comments that are only there to promote a site. It means that you should visit similar blogs to your own, post legitimate comments and then sign your name(along with a link to your blog). This way, people know you aren’t there just to promote your site—you’re there to post a good piece of feedback and also say where you’re from.

Tip 6: Ask owners of other blogs to post a link to yours

Find other blogs that are similar to yours. If they seem to be decently popular (that is, they have a good amount of comments for each post), you can try to contact the owner of the blog to add a link to your blog if they have a links section. To make them really want to do this, you can offer to link back to their blog on your blog. People do this reciprocal blog linking all the time and it does help to increase traffic.

Tip 7: Use keywords in your blog

Like regular web pages, having a good keyword density on a blog is a terrific way of getting search engine spiders to notice your page. (FYI: Search engine spiders are programs from search engines that browse sites and report back their findings to the search engine database, which then lists that site. The more keywords on your site, the more likely it is for a search engine spider to pay a visit)

If your average blog posting is around 200 words, try to use 2-6 keywords per blog post. 2-6 keywords in a blog posting of 200 words is a keyword density of between 1 and 3 percent, a respectable number. Remember that you don’t want to use too many keywords, as that will make your blog look bad. Also be sure that the keywords used are relevant to your blog. Before even making a blog posting, decide what the post will be about and then select a keyword or two to use in your post. Then do it. It’s a surefire way of getting more traffic to your site!

Signing up with a service like Technorati is a quick, painless way of increasing traffic to your blog. So sign up today!

Discover Your Passion

Have you heard the saying in relation to working, “Find something you love and you’ll never have to work another day in you life?” It makes perfect sense. If you are able to do what you love for a living then most of the time it won’t even feel like you’re actually working.

Of course, the trick is to find that which you love so much that you won’t get sick of it. Usually that’s easier said than done.

Sometimes it’s very easy to find that which you love. You just know it. You love cars so you become a mechanic. You love writing so you go into a field that allows you to write. You love working with kids so you become an Elementary teacher. But it’s not always this easy.

So here are a few tips on how to choose a job that you’ll love:

Don’t Worry About the Money

Too often we make decisions about what we want to do for a living based on how much money we’ll make. Sure we all want money but money isn’t everything. Besides if you get into a job that you absolutely love, chances are you will succeed and wind-up making a
lot of money anyway because of your passion for the job.

Pay Attention to What You Like To Do, Not What You Hate

Don’t get into a job just to get away from something you hate. Get into a job because you’ll be doing something you love.

Always chase your dreams instead of running from your fears.

Take Your Time

Don’t feel like you have to decide what you want to do with the rest of your life in a short amount of time. There is no pressure to decide within days or weeks. As long as you are willing to work another job – any job – while you decide, then you should definitely take your time. It’s better to take a long time to make the right decision than to quickly make the wrong decision.

Analyze Your Life

To help find that perfect job, sit down and take the time to think about your entire life. Think about a subject you loved in school or an activity that you were good at and thoroughly enjoyed. Think about all your interests in you life – both past and present. Then try to find a job that matches what you like and what you’re interested in.

This advice (the four tips above) can be used to decide what you want to do for a living and the advice can also be used to help you decide which niche you want to be in (if you are into Internet Marketing). Just follow the same advice that’s given above.

The bottom line is that you want to put yourself in a position where you are making money doing what you love to do. You want to be able to use your passion so that you can achieve success, have money, and be happy every single day. If you can do that, then you
really won’t feel like your working another day in you entire life.

If need extra help in turning your passion or hobby into a business you can make a living from then check out the “Super Mailing List Strategies” that will help you do just that within the next 90 days.

How to Stay Focused?

You should have heard this many times before, but it is worth repeating. Most Internet marketers do not succeed online because they fail to take action.

It is not just any action that is important, but focused, meaningful, productive action. You can read all the ebooks on how to succeed online, but unless your actions are results-oriented, you would not move forward. Frustration ensues and this is when most people give up.

If you are just starting out, you have the advantage of recognizing this, thus avoiding the pitfalls of ‘running in place’. This is an especially challenging issue for Internet marketers who typically work out of their homes - and thus have to learn how to manage their time effectively and productively.

All too often I have found myself bouncing from one project to another, and then wondering at the end of the day what I’ve accomplished. I realized I needed some strategies to help me stay focused, and when repeated, these strategies become habits.

Here are some ideas I have for you:

ELIMINATING DISTRACTIONS:

  • Turn off the TV and the radio.
  • Carve out some specific time during the day for your online business.
  • Close the door to your home office or work space.
  • Turn off the phone.
  • Work on one project at a time.
  • Close all browser windows except for what is needed for the single project you’re working on.

STAYING FOCUSED:

  • Develop a business plan.
  • Do not buy ebooks or software or subscribe to newsletters that lead you away from your plan.
  • Create a weekly and daily to-do list.
  • Work in 45-50 minute blocks without interruption with the help of a timer.
  • Work on one clearly defined project at a time.
  • Keep a Daily Progress Chart.
  • Reward yourself when you complete a project.

DON’T GET BOGGED DOWN WITH:

  • Checking your email. Check it quickly once in the morning, and then not until you’ve completed a project.
  • Browsing forums. Yes, we can learn a lot by visiting forums, but they also serve to keep us away from the task at hand. Do this later in the day, after you’ve completed a project.
  • Reading marketing materials/ebooks: while education is vital to our success, mark out a time later in the day or evening for this work. Get some projects done first.

Are you ready to take action? Then grab a sheet of paper and jot down a quick ‘to-do’ list for what you want to accomplish today. Prioritize the tasks, and then get going!

Blog Marketing For Money

Yahoo! Search MarketingBlog marketing is something that most everyone is doing that owns a blog. You are going to find that many of them are blogging for money, and many are not. The numbers really vary and depend on what you are looking at. If you are wanting a home business that consists of blog marketing, then you would be blogging for money. However, if you just have a blog that you use to write your thoughts and journal more or less, you are probably not blogging for money. Everyone blogs for a different reason.

Blog marketing to make money means that you are simply blogging for a profit. If you are going to make an amount of money that will add up to become anything, you need to be persistent, and consistent. To do so there are some things as well as techniques and tools that you must know and know how to use. Keep reading for more.

While good content is something that you will need for your blog to make money, you also want to ensure that it is original content as well. You can market a blog with something that is copied and that you do not own the rights. Plagiarism will get you in trouble with Google as well as the person that originally wrote the content. Be sure that all of your posts are ones that only you own the rights too. This is a great thing to know and do when you are marketing your blog to make money. Content is the key to successful marketing lately.

Tracking is another part of blog marketing for money that is so very important. You want to be able to track your visitors and clickers to know where they are coming from. You want to be able to tell what keywords they searched on to find your blog and where they did their searching. Doing so will help take out all of the guess work when it comes to blog marketing and making money while blogging. You will want to know what keywords are working, and which are not. So that you will know which keywords to use more of and which ones to drop.

Another thing that is important when you are blog marketing for money is to find other sites and blogs that are in the same market as yours, but not in direct competition with you to exchange links with. This will help you out a lot as well, especially if you can get some good exchanges with high authority sites. The higher the page rank of your link exchange, the better for your blog. Google and the other search engines will recognize your link exchanges, and the more the better in this case.

Blog marketing for money can be done. You just simply have to know what works and what does not. It is truly a trial and error basis. If you think you might know of a new way to market your blog the most effectively, TRY IT! You just never know if it will work for you until you do. Then if you find something that works and works well, consider making it in to an ebook and marketing that as well. You will have the know how, it is just a matter of using it.
